Axis.Exist (2007)

Axis.Exist was inspired by Gretel Ehrlich’s survival memoir A Match to the Heart. The work explores Ehrlich’s powerful story of being hit by lighting, and the poetry of her language around the natural and spiritual world. The movement is inspired by the white electric power and speed of lighting, the fragility of an injured body and the will of the human spirit to keep going. The crafting of space and lighting have been designed to reflect the vastness of the Wyoming landscape, home to Ehrlich’s ranch.
